A Retro Menu To Tickle Your Tastebuds
MUMS Great Comfort Food delivers exactly what it says on the tin; and that’s great comfort food. The Edinburgh-based Restaurant focuses on quality of ingredients that are locally sourced and it’s all about good food, good people and good times.
We were tasked with designing and producing new Menus. The brief asked for a menu that resembled an album cover combined with an American Diner feel. We also needed to pay homage to the restaurant décor which is retro and kitsch.
We had a lot of fun with the design and the end result is four menu covers that carry a variety of well-known catchphrases from 1970 TV personalities – ‘Who loves ya baby’, Telly Savalas, aka Kojak. The menu size is 210mm square and graphically worn to give the impression that it holds a record single (that’s vinyl to you kids!). Internally the typography screams DINER!
The menus are visually fun and provide a great talking point for customers.
